And somebody needs to sort out those kids, thats beginning to get very annoying. They're obviously just doing it to entertain themselves, where is their supervision?
he was a grown man alright, mountain of a man in fact, shouted it just after parks missed the drop goal. I was standing a bit in front of him. Most people around turned and just looked at him. There were 2 or 3 people with him that looked mortified. Don't recall seeing him in that area before. He was at the steps to the press area.
I must be going deaf, i was behind the Americans and didn't notice them chanting at all.

I know that they are only kids but if someone doesnt ask them to be quiet then they will never learn to respect the kicker. Maybe if the parents/coaches dont do it then perhaps the stewards should step in and have a quiet word.
Guys
Americans were a College team, not kids, you would think they would have known better, !!!!!! ???

Courage is knowing what lies on the other side and still opening the door.

On the stewarding side of things - my ticket wasn't checked going in to the Clan stand last night. First time this year that's happened.
Mine neither.
My recollection is that you are only checked if there isn't likely to be plenty of room.
Regarding the crowd, there was a US university side in the clan who were a bit of a pain in the ass to listen too. Plenty of noise but not a lot of it humorous. They were the ones giving the ref the most abuse near me. Chanting "I'm blind, I'm deaf, I want to be a ref" and questioning the refs parentage. Bit tedious, but it did make for one funny moment when during the best attempt at silence for a Zebre kick some kid (who I don't believe was being cheeky) pipes up with "I'm blind, I'm deaf, I want to be a ref".
The kids are just being kids, no need to be too precious about it IMO. Its the adults who keep talking, or giving the ref abuse that annoy me.
heard that across in the main stand terrace and thought it sounded very American

I'll take the kids shouting at the kicker ahead of the filth that hurled in the direction of the ref from quite a few people standing near me.

respect the kicker
i been down the 22 bohermore side few time now, good spot but it seems thats were people go to give pub reviews and check there emails. they talk when the kicker is getting ready and reminds me of all this talk at the aviva.
there are alot of kids in that area, most are shouting all the time and dont have a clue when there is a kick taking place on the pitch, other times they stay quiet till the kicker is running up and starts shouting and booing.
zero respect there, people might say im harsh but its been happening to long. comes across very loud on the tv aswel. were bigger then that.
steward no. 1
there is a steward on this form so if they want clear this or next point up please do..
before during the game, this steward blocks of the tunnal area where the players enter/exit. simply saying, its full. use the side entrance. time and time again, they are not full when i walk to my spot at the tunnal, are they not arsed to check tickets? correct but all the power of controling people have gone to this persons head.
steward no. 2
i moved at half time down behind the zebre bench, lovely people around, few kids with there parents, who were a joy to hear them support the team while also respecting the kickers.
about 20-15 mins to go, things were heating up on the pitch, zebre were on top and there bench were getting excited for there first win were on the cards.
maybe 5 players/coaches were on there feet, inside there little marked out by cones and tape box, right in front of be, a steward enters the track, taps players on there shoulder, and tells them to sit down. players looked confused but sat down. coach did not as he had a job to do.
at that moment i was embarressed that this happened at connacht.

No more posts about Rossie/OS/S_Ps "form" in this thread. No more posts about Munster traditions etc...
Okay, the forum is open for discussion of any topic under the sun. This discussion is happening in "The Connacht Clan" forum and as such it should be related to the Supporters Club and the support of Connacht in general. Threads on the booing of kickers are absolutely fine here, as are discussions of Munster fans, including people defending Munster fans, in relation to Connacht. There is also an "Other Rugby" thread where Munster related discussion is actively encouraged.
However this is not a thread about respecting the kicker, nor about Munster fans... it's about Connacht fan behaviour at the Edinburgh game and in particular it is about "The Eejit".
SO... if someone takes a sideswipe at Munster and you feel the need to defend them, then please start a NEW thread about the post. In that thread both sides can feel free to be as contrary as they like, and they won't end up ruining poor S4P's thread.
Any more posts in this thread regarding Munster, Munster Fans, or any more "who said what when" post will result in an official warning to the poster, and a potential temporary ban.
As an aside, S_P is a mod, and as such he does have a more power than other posters. He is a trusted member of the Clan and he ran a great forum for years. He has not abused this power or used it inappropriately, and he has done a great job on this forum.

Equally when I log onto the one forum I actually enjoy it's because I like to have a chat with like-minded (and very often not like-minded) people about Connacht Rugby, if that involves a swipe at a rival or two, then so be it. I don't want to be on the Connacht forum arguing the merits of Munster or any other club other than Connacht.
Very often I disagree with sea_point and many others here, and that is fine, but at least we are talking about Connacht.
Recently any mention of Munster or Declan Kidney has had their defenders gallop up on their red horse to attack any such comment.
I'll say it again, this is a Connacht forum.
Now, I'm going to comment on this thread again, not going to look at it, even. Much more interested in the thread about the Biarritz game.
