Oh FFS!

I really hope this isn't true with MOD gone and O'Connell looking unlikely he has a real chance of making the bench for the NZ games. Was it the independent commissioner or a complaint from Glasgow?

According to the Glasgow site, Macca has been cited. Would rule him out of the NZ tour if proven...

www.glasgowwarriors.org wrote: Connacht Lock, Mike McCarthy, has been cited for making contact with the eyes or eye area of an opponent in the RaboDirect PRO12 match between Glasgow Warriors and Connacht on Saturday.

The date and venue of the hearing, before an independent PRO12 Disciplinary Committee, will be confirmed in due course.

From what i remember.

duffy vs edinburgh-As i recall Duffy was very very hard done by.
POD vs glasgow-Cusiter must have got lessons from Didier Drigba for the way he went down here.Thing that annoys me is that there is no action for the likes of Cusiter keeping ball, turning his back and jogging away in order to prevent a quick penalty.
grace vs dragons-Yep very silly and no need for it.
swift vs ulster-Don't get me started on this one ,but disagreed with this yellow.
Loughney vs ulster-Silly and deserved.

Not making excuses for dumb play, but it is a lot easier to keep your cool when your team wins 90% of their games. Throw in the level of experience of Connacht's refs and I'm a little surprised they even had a chance for the award.

Or tell them that a yellow card costs a grand.

Thanks for the stats Swift4prez. If you think of Grace with that idiot trip, Swifty stamping on a lad and POD's infringement against Glasgow we could have won it. I'd point out those stats to Swifty and Lougney and tell them that they head the table of ill repute and it won't be tolerated next year.

England got there top 5 foulers in a room before the 2003 World Cup and told them they were a hindrance to the team and their country and they expected them to sort it out themselves. As far as I know none of the 5 got a yellow during the entire campaign.

well done leinster, they won the fair play league.

leinster 8 yellows
cardiff 9 yellows
CONNACHT 10 yellows
edinburgh 11 yellows.

we were in control of this till last few games and completely lost it.

leinster now have £10,000 to spend on youth players.

Poor journalism, we have 5 yellows as of this weekend. Still good enough for first place though. Hope we keep it up, the rich boys don't need that kind of cash but it would be great for us

All in the scrum

Compiled by JOHNNY WATTERSON

Connacht: Good boys of PRO12

CONNACHT MAY be trailing most other teams in the Pro12 race but they are table toppers when it comes to playing clean. Eric Elwood’s side are the least-carded side in the Pro12, with just four yellows to date

The Fairplay League rewards the best disciplinary record, with the team with the fewest disciplinary points (one point for each yellow card, and three points for each red card or an upheld citing). At the end of each season the winning club is given £10,000 to spend on their youth development programme.

Leinster have been good boys, too, and have drawn just six yellow cards so far, twice as good as Munster.

agreed diom its a shambles. unfortunately the powers that be seem to be slowly drifting towards a rugby league type solution which is quite disapointing.

I for one would like to see a reintroduction of a limited amount of shoeing for those loitering with intent on the wrong side of the ruck and also the allowing of multiple binding for team in possession when entering ruck like in the 70s and early 80s(scotland were brilliant at it). This would go a long way towards stopping the side entry and allow teams retain possession and create faster ball.

I doubt we will ever see it tho.

The thing is there is a lot of inconsistency in terms of the breakdown rules at the minute. No ref for example seems to be calling for players being off their feet, or diving into the ruck.
