Absolutely Great Performance, and Great Athmosphere ..fair play to the Ulster fans that Travel,I wouldnt fancy heading to Ravenhill with a Tri Colour though.. Good crowd 5000+
I was impressed with the Team as a whole I had it sky plused and watched it again when I came home but I felt Connacht were hungry for this..Loughs was excellent,Buckley did very well I could go one...George made some good Line breaking runs...Our trys were impressive...negatives...the IRadio thing was crap...and nikoras kicking from hand was dodge..What did yee think of our new signing for next year Willie Falloon???

And will Eric sign up that young lad that kicked 3 from 3 at half time??

Going to Renew my season ticket now, no 6ft plus lads(only ladies) allowed stand in front of me the in the Clan by the way :)

On the whole it was a very good win, anytime Connacht beats one of the other provinces it always is, but there were a few error sprinkled in that could have undone them. Columoc mentioned the two lineouts and I would include Connacht's final one that was not straight and gave Ulster a scrum. I'm surprised Flavin wasn't in by then. Duffy uncharacteristically had troubles with a few restarts and Nikora had a couple of blips in the second half on clearances that weren't and one paved the way to Ulster's second try. Loughney's yellow seemed more clumsy than intentional, but it opened the door for Ulster to change kickers which turned the tide in the first half.

Well, enough of the "they're never satisfied" post. They did well to come back and win. I second on Buckley. George had some very good runs and after that first half kick I think we found our back-up fullback. Muldoon was outstanding and what a pass for TOH's try. JOC did well coming on for Ray I just wish he'd look outside him when he has ball in hand. Macca was great as was his partner aside from his yellow card, looks like the good sportsmanship award is slipping from Connacht's grip. The back did well. Nikora took is try well as did Duffy. I will miss Henry when he's gone.

Roll on Aironi!

I thought young Buckley did well at Loose. Penalised a fee times for dropping his bind, but generally scrummed well and will have benefitted from virtually a full game.

Lineouts a bit wayward, the Cronin yips seem to effect Ethienne at crucial moments, in first half leading to Marshall's try (how smart was that, can we have one of them please, how Kidney ignores him is beyond me) and in the second when we butchered an attacking lineout on the 5.

Nonetheless, encouraging stuff, midfield solid enough. A bit lucky that Humpreys lite was so brutal, but we'll take it. Roll on Airioni & the Bouncy castles.

Oh Yeah! Gotta say Nikora was impressive glad to see he's found his touch again. He keeps this up and he's worth at least an Ireland A Cap. Hopefully this shows that we're on an up-ward curve and next will be a big one for us!

C'mon Connacht!!!

All celebrating I suppose B) . Due to unforeseen circumstances couldn't make the match :( . Gutted about that but it was a great result in the end. Sounded like a right ding dong game. A real testament to the Connacht lads that they are going right until the end of the season battling for every point, I don't know how many seasons I've watched us where half the lads were effectively heading off early on their holidays for games at this time of year.

Need to drive on from this, another 4 minimum (hopefully 5) against Aironi next week will give us a reasonable shout at 8th going into the final day.

Hopefully Ulster can still make the playoffs, its some scrap for the final place but given they are away to Leinster if they finish 4th they may just put all into the HC at this stage.

Is there something up with the forum? I can't believe that there were no posts about today's match. Fair play to Connacht for winning this derby - long overdue.

henry is probably continuing to start ahead of players who will be here next season because eric and branch recognise the value and importance of win especially at home at renewal time of season.

Either that or they know there going to lose him so might as well get as much mileage out of him as possible. Thats what i'd do

There is a huge opportunity to win here now and the forwards can get right at them especially in the scrum where imo there are penalties to be had. Cool calculated decision making is needed here and to borrow and adapt a saying from hurling, take the points and the tries will follow.

However this ulster selection puts pressure on connacht to perform so hopefully they will react well to that and play as they have been. The crowd will expect two home wins now to finish season and i believe they are very achievable.

On that note im delighted to see that connacht are having a kids fun day on the afternoon of the aironi game and also giving admission to that game for 15 euro if in before 4pm. Hats off to them and a very fitting end to the season.
its over to the team now for their contribution!

Thats a decent enough Ulster side, ok missing a lot of players but still strong. Neil McComb is the Ulster Ravens captain this year I believe, unlucky to be kept out of the usual Ulster squad. Hes a big unit an an absolute hero of the Scottish club rugby scene a few years back.

Good to see McCommish return to the sportsground, felt he was hard done by with selections on numerous occasions when we were missing backrow players and he still was left out. His pass to Swifthy against Leinster for the famous try a number of years back.

Is this Courts first game back at TH since the England game? Not saying that he was all to blame but it would surely be on his mind, especially when he is now primed to replace Afoa after he picked up his ban.

Good to have Big George back which allows Muldoon to return to his favoured position. Very winnable game. Connacht need to get into them from the opening kickoff. They cannot let baby Hump to dictate the game. Hopefully Fetu has caught the try scoring bug and it's contagious. Certainly this Ulster side is far from a push over, but a season's first try scoring bonus point would be grand.

Given that Court is out of position, we've better a better pack on a man-for-man basis for at least 5 or 6 positions, and we've equal on the others. And while their backline looks good, Jackson's selection at 12 gives us 2 smallish outhalves to target. Very hopeful for a win based on the selections.
