I suppose this is the best place for it!?
I rang the branch yesterday to claim my free pair of tickets.
After being told the game was sold out, i decide that I'd head to the ground today.
The game actually isn't sold out, tickets available in enclosed, seated stand, clan hospitality and behind both posts.
So when I tried to claim the tickets today, in person, i was told that the limit was reached on free tickets for this game. Yes it's the last game, i wonder how many people got stung by this, never before heard of limit.
I can't see it in the term and conditions in last year's season ticket advertising.
I asked if the game didn't sell out, could I claim my tickets. (Leave name and pick them up at game).. I was told that wasn't possible.
Wouldn't a proper full house be a huge advantage to the players for the last game rather than turning away season ticket holders who are entitled to there tickets, very short sighted chasing the €€€
I’m glad you brought this up! I had a similar experience, went looking for my two friend tickets yesterday to be told that that "we've reached our capacity for that offer and we don’t have any left to give out". Straight up one line, no apology, nor nothing! Made me feel like I was begging for something that to be honest I’ve already paid for!
Now, to be fair, I did leave it late and it is in the terms and conditions that they can limit the tickets for any one match, but I don’t think it’s been handled very well.
Lesson learned, and a little bit of good will eroded!

We've been contacted by Connacht Rugby in relation to some issues people may have had with relocation season tickets this morning.
As was pointed out, there was very limited availability for both the Clan Terrace or the Enclosure. Connacht, along with their ticketing partner, had run various stress tests to make sure that the ticketing system would hope up to the expected demand. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of everyone in the branch, this didn't pan out. Connacht Rugby are very alive to this, so if you were one of the people effected, please do let them know at seasontickets@connachtrugby.com

Very unfair being season ticket since the clan has been built and missed about 3 games in that time.. Id rather spend the €90 on pints during the matches than to get in to the matches... Very poorly done by marketing team and from talking to my friends (also college students) there won't be many of them renewing because of the price hike!!!
You are what any regular supporter would call a loyal fan;attend all the games, spend a few quid and go back to work, college or school on Monday morning and talk about the match and the craic to be had in the Sportsgrounds;you'd even suggest bringing along a few friends to the next game....a kinda " marketing". But that is lost to the Marketing team inside the office. You are if no real value, just another stat or account number and tough if you haven't the money to buy a season ticket for next season.
Very poorly thought out pricing.
Going to the Sportsgrounds is a bit like Mass:You stay until the players are off the pitch and never leave early!

To get the Student rate, you need to be born after 1/5/2000 or have a student ID, in other words, if you turn 17 before the end of April this year, you are considered an adult until you start college. Since most students are over 18 starting college these days, wouldn't a whole bunch of leaving cert students have to pay full price? I'm sure that won't be enforced but it's a bit silly.
One of the new benefits is "Exclusive priority access to match day tickets for your friends", which is grand but they seem to have quietly dropped the two free tickets we used to get.
I'm seriously pissed off.Having brought my 5 kids in since toddlers to teens, and with a solid attendance as well,in hail, wind and rain, good times and, well, pretty awful times too,I'm now forced to fork out €160 each for them before buying by own.. The "family" ticket doesn't cover 16/18 yr olds, they're students.Only children can be included in that. Bollo#! They're still at school,so in my definition, children.
Next, to stop "non-kids" entering the grounds on "youth" tickets, some bright spark, normally sat at a desk probably, proposes that stewards at the gate check proof of age... That'll go down a storm with those lads.. So now it seems we're to bring in proof of age to apply for tickets, and then bring along the kids passport for further checks on match day.If it's going to be done right, do the bio metric scanning instead with automatic detentions for miscreants... I propose the far corner at the wall beside the graveyard, that'll teach 'em, the chancer's!
Basically, it's squeezing as much cash out of people as possible. Yes,the branch needs money, no doubting that. Comparisons have been made to prices at the other Province's, and the Branch want to come in line like them.Well that's dandy, so give us, the supporter's, better facilities to be in line with the other Province's. The old saying, "Ya gets what you pay for" should be considered.
Forget about complaining to Branch,I've tried to no avail.

Secondary school students can get a student card from students union- gets them various discounts too (junior version of the 3rd level card)

chops123 wrote: In terms of the teenagers being too old for the kids tickets, ring the branch and tell them that they are not college students and be honest that you can't afford to pay out that much.. Did it 2 years ago myself and they reduced the price because of loyalty.
Well I tried. Met a member of the Marketing team, very nice, talked about making best use of age grade allocations, distribution of unused match day tickets and value. Comparisons made to the other Province's etc etc. Loyalty at the end of the day didn't matter, though it was recognised and appreciated. My big issue is charging kids who are at school, 16/18 bracket, student rate, €160 each and the family ticket of no use when teenagers are in the mix.
As for the earlier sale than normal... Well it's down to getting the cash in early just in case we fail to stay in the Champions Cup and interest wains for the Fair Weather Supporter who hasn't the same interest in Challenge Cup rugby.
