Going to the Sportsgrounds is a bit like Mass:You stay until the players are off the pitch and never leave early!

Thanks for all the advice - he loves the rugby Craic and is coming home from Spain for Christmas and as I've said his first visit to Galway.

If he's grown up,how about letting him off alone...ye might cramp his styleUlstermike wrote: December..... and now worried that all we've told him about the great Craic in the bars, at the ground and in town after the game will be rather badly affected by Galway being closed.
Is this likely to be the case? Should I bring a massive carry out to share with the locals?
My wife and I have been a couple of times and had the best of times and was hoping our son would have the same experience.

Just the right amount of schnazz. It's easy to go overboard.Evil_g wrote: Really? The pubs around the pitch will open surely?
I've asked An Púcán on Twitter.

Having said that, I am in no way concerned about being able to get pints and have the craic.

O'Connell's on Eyre Square or An Púcán should be good before the game. And if it's not raining after the match call over to the Bar behind the Clan Terrace to say hello to the season ticket holders.
The Dáil Bar (see logo on top of this page) is great too.
