That shouldn't stop us doing something for Keith Matthews anyway.

It would be remiss of the branch to be commenting on the future of such a great servant to Connacht rugby (or any other player until the appropriate time) if that player was in negotiations with other clubs about his future and possibly using his current status as a bargaining chip.

Also if retiring it would be the players choice to announce that not the
Branchs.

Absolutely, if Ray is allowed slip quitely out the back door like Andrew Farley it will be a disgrace. He's not one to look for the limelight but he deserves our public thanks for his efforts. Pound for Pound one of our best players of the last 10 years......

With only two games to go it needs to be planed and communicated now, just in case the branch do their usual thing of aannouncing his departure after he's gone...

So, could someone on here contact the branch? Or should the Clan tweet @connachtrugby to let them know we want to show our appreciation and they need to announce this kind of stuff?

Yeah, Bruce's exit quickly came to mind when talk turned to the possibility of Ray leaving. Like Farley, the man has been a legend for Connacht. It's frightening to think what kind of damage he could cause if he could manage to stay healthy for an entire season. Definitely deserves a proper send off.
