Accompanying letter mentions <strong>a launch party for seasons ticket holders in August where you can meet the squad and pick up your "supporters gift along with drinks vouchers and family ticket food vouchers"</strong>. Nice touch. Can't wait.
I think the launch party is a fine idea on its own, but I dont like the idea that you have to go to that to pick up your supporter gift and drink vouchers.
With so many Connacht fans living outside of Galway, no doubt the party will be a Wednesday evening at 6pm
You had better be able to pick these things up at the office at another date
Well said ConnachtCows, could not agree more. I not only live outside Galway but outside Connacht altogether, in Drogheda and at the beginning of August have to go for a hip replacement so will not be back on my feet until October. Hope my gift and vouchers are still available then and not "All Gone"![]()
The cynic in me believes its a cost saving plan. They know that not all Season ticket holders will go to the party. In fact, I imagine that less than half will go.

Am excited to have a ST back in the wallet again. Always perks me up when I spot it. Handy, cause I get depressed when I look in the wallet!

No much talk from the branch this year about numbers, last year they were aiming for 5,000.
only thing we heard this year is they broke 2,000 then 800 renewed then another 300.
that brings us close or even to last years numbers.
This of season is too quiet

Decent start. I wonder are people holding out, to see if we get into the HC again next season.

For example season ticket renewals with the Dragons is only £99. Standing ticket for Glasgow is only £135.
I have no problems with the prices. They just should be honest with their fans.

last year junior season tickets were for kids between 12-18.
this year the junior season ticket is for kids from 3-18.
as i stated before in other posts about value etc.
if they are charging 3-12 year olds €90 for new tickets, then tickets could be more then €5 per ticket.
THEY MUST KNOW, why charge some kids €90 and not others. they most know.
im the one who see this on the facebook when connacht twice refused to give answer.

Speaking as someone who regularly brings (young) kids to games I'm not sure why this is an issue, perhaps I'm missing something?
I checked my renewal notice (I've renewed) and there are no promises made on U-12s free admission to "B" grade games, as there were last year, and if they have another 10% attendance increase like this season then the average attendance will be over 6000 and space becomes a real issue.
If they "don't know" it's probably because they genuinely "haven't decided".
Just a note on other season ticket prices, as a comparison, and perhaps to give some perspective:
prior to emigrating last year, a mate of mine from Tipp paid 240 euro for a Thomond season ticket for years; this gave him (Limerick) Rabo games only and put him on a waiting list for the right to purchase HEC tickets once enough pre-existing season ticket holders gave up theirs (or died!). He was no. ~19,000, with ~3000 people in line ahead of him.
Even allowing for the differential in standard between Munster and Connacht, IMO it's fair to say we're getting pretty good value.

This season under 12's receive free entrance into most games apart from the bigger fixtures.
Next season children aged between 3 and 12 may or may not get free entrance.
I have no problem if they do charge. But personally I feel they are deliberately with-holding this. They want as many people as possible to buy the season tickets before they decide.
I just think it is very unfair to people.
Regarding their responses, "We don't know" and "We have not decided" is not answering the question.
I also asked them to make a statement on Facebook or connachtrugby.ie to let people know that they "might" be charging for under 12's this year but they believe they are not hiding anything.
As someone who would be disappointed if they did away with the u12 rule I think you are being unreasonable. There is no evidence of a conspiracy here. It is a nice feature, but it isn't a season ticket issue, as it applies to ordinary one off tickets as well as season tickets. They don't owe you an answer at this point. Clearly they haven't come to a decision and are mulling it over, and there is no evidence that they are 'withholding this'.

eezipc wrote: I see I was mentioned on this forum. I was the guy asking Connacht Rugby about charging for the kids next season.
Now first I want to make one thing clear. I think Connacht can charge what they want and when they want. I have no problem with that.
However, they refuse to answer the question about charging for kids next year (aged between 3 and 18).
I have been kicked off their Facebook page for asking the question too many times and been accused of harassment.....
I have received two variants on the answer so far.
1: They have not decided yet if they will or will not charge for kids over 3.
2: They have not decided on the prices yet for kids over 3.
I have asked them to make it clearer for people but they refuse to inform anyone. Basically they want everyone to buy season tickets first and then set the prices for children over 3.
I have only brought my niece twice this season. Once to the Zebre Rabo game and to the Dragons game. Crowds were low, plenty of room.
In reality it does not affect me much whether or not they charge for kids but the way they have handled it has pissed me right off.
So I didn't renew today. Been going to Connacht games for many years now but not anymore. I have been told that sales have been slow and it does not surprise me. There does seem to be alot of people annoyed with Connacht this year.
Peace out.
First off welcome.
Second, surely if you bring your niece twice a year then why is there a massive rush for you personally to know the price for kidss? If you have received two variants of the answer, I presume from the branch going by your pos but could be wrongt, then surely it is harassment if you keep asking the question.
A shame that you didnt renew for the reasons, but I suppose the branch need to get more research done about the pricing scheme for kids which is a shame. You could end up kicking yourself though if we got a group with Clermont, Racing and Leicester in it!
