What about Imelada May's "johnny got a boom boom" for JO'C

Imelda May - Johnny Got A Boom Boom Official Video

Lyrics to Johnny Got A Boom Boom :

He got me with a hook
Those big bass notes
Thunder in my chest
Stuck in my throat
Pulling me down
Like a rumble in the ground
Crawls up from the depths
With a deep down sound

Johnny got a boom boom
Johnny got a bam
He got a...

Big bomb body
Lonely neck
Swear it was a woman
That he had in his grip
Big vibrations, yeah
Just one glance
He'd gonna blow my mind
He's gonna make me wanna
Make me wanna, oh

Watch that man
See what's in his hands
Got no joy
He's a big bad boy

He's gonna freak you out
You're gonna shriek out loud
He's got you in his hands
He's gonna make you wanna
Make you wanna, oh

Agree with Ummm here...  Nothing against the tune but surely we can find something by a more appropriate artist?  Most NFL teams don't play it any more, when it was on at every kick off ten years back.

My 2c worth... Before games play the start of Thunderstruck and say 'Connacht' instead of thunder?  This is not my forte..

Had a few ideas, but I would definitely run with the N17 now.

Also, as there was mention by Decadence already of Gary Glitters "I'm the Leader of the gang", just for a bit of banter with the souls left over the far side, if you could get a bit of banter going in the Clan Terrace, although we are all part of the one clan, there is no case for segregation being mentioned here.

"Come on, Connacht, Come on, Connacht, Come on, Connacht, Connacht...

You wanna be in our Clan, our Clan, our Clan, You wanna be in our Clan, Oh Yeah!"

Instead of the "I'm the Leader", we can change it to "Elwoods the Leader, Duffys the Leader, Muldoon is the Leader of our Clan too(Yeah). O'Connor is the Leader, Naoupu is the Leader...."

Probably too many leaders, but what the hell. Okay, none of us here are Gary Glitter fans, but sure we already use the first verse, I think this might just be crazy enough to work. Bit of clapping or drums with that and we are away.

Yes I like the N-17 too, lets just focus on the original chorus and when it catches on then maybe chance a few verses!! :)

I'd agree.  Keep the "N17" part.  Perfectly appropriate as is.

+1, and perfectly happy for the Doctors to join "The Clan".......

+1
Certainly worth a try. Would be good to have lyrics printed, to hand out at next home match v Cardiff. Not to harp on about it, but I like others on here do NOT want the fields!

Not just Galway, it goes all the way north to south through Connacht, joining us all

Which is quite nicely metaphorical, when you think about it.

N17 is a great song. I wouldn't drop the "N17" part in the chorus. That would be bizarre - we would just be adopting a tune. It's a fantastic, modern(ist) iconic song of Galway and Connacht.

Where do I sign up  :D :D

Think I may have tried singing N17 on the bus home from Thomand last year. It was catching on if I remember rightly.
A song like that, we need to start off with a chorus, so people recognise it immediately, and join in
