Not sure what the situation with O'Meara is or whether he is realistically a candidate for an academy slot anymore, he either is attending or just playing for Hartpury College in Gloucester (Playing in NL 2 - RFU Tier 4). If attending you'd wonder what the duration of his course is..?

Also Parrata was a star for Rockwell in the run up to the Munster final, can see them sweeping him back into their stream....

i wouldnt be getting anyway at all excited about gaffney, how he made ireland under 18's is a shock to most people, he lost the cup for roscrea last season and had to stand in this year in the semi vs blackrock. missed a few handy kicks.

in the quarter's vs tenuare he missed a converstion from 5 metres out under the post. comes across as a player who doesnt give a fuck what happens.

he did score a good try which is posted by its_phil

Ciaran Gaffney is from Galway and on the bench for the Ireland U18's and if you havent seen this:

www.tubechop.com/watch/1057757

Heffernan is from Galway so it is not impossible if he is offered academy because I think he will only get sub-academy at Leinster which is the usual protocol for most players out of school.

id expect exile alex o meara to get a place too. very impressed with him every time i seen him and made a game for ireland under 20's this season

Do you think O'Meara will get a place this year? I rate him as well but I thought he got turned down last year?

Forgot about Walshe. Leinster apparently have 2 big props coming into their academy this year and with Furlong still in the academy Heffernan could be squeezed out and might decide that Connacht is a better option like Peter Reilly. I'm also adding David Panter to the list of possibles.

Rory Parratta
Sean O'Brien
Oisin Heffernan
Caolin Blade
Seuba Meunargia
Jacob Walshe
David Panter
Alex O'Meara

id rate oisin heffernan highly, he's in france now playing with ireland under 18's but he's not ours, he's leinster.

id also rate jacob walshe highly, another roscrea prop, id imagine he could be in the acedamy. hope he has talent rather then having a huge pack with him at roscrea, think he's arounds 18stone which is 2 stone heavier then denis buckley.

depend on his college/ school work, id expect exile alex o meara to get a place too. very impressed with him every time i seen him and made a game for ireland under 20's this season

Your right it is Rory Paratta who I was thinking off and I heard that Paratta has offers from both but hasn't decided yet.

So thats:
Rory Parratta
The Real Sean O'Brien
Oisin Heffernan?
Caolin Blade
Seuba Meunargia

How do people rate Oisin Heffernan's chances? Anyone else who is making waves we should have here?

Rory Paratta is who you're thinking of

Munster are trying to snare him as well

There were 4 Connacht reprentatives on the irish u19 team

Caolin Blade and Seuba Meunargia are 2 who come to mind

Navan play Athy in Leinster u19 final tomorrow in MUI Maynooth

Whoever wins/has won connacht leagues will be home to munster champions in all ireland semis

Bandon won 19s, Clonakilty won 17s and Navan won Leinster final
Anyone able to give an update on the connacht leagues?

Anyone?
Connacht league winners. who are they?

U-19's Leagues is not decided yet.

U-19's Semis are on 24/03

12:00 Galwegians vs Buccaneers League Semi Final
14:00 Westport vs Sligo League Semi Final

Westport topped the group stage, but I guess the knock-out stages determine the qualifier..

In the U-17's:

Sligo and Corinthians were a class apart, but having already beaten them at home, Sligo won the Final at the Sportsground 17-0.

there was a lot of critisism re promotion and facilitating of senior final by branch. it wud appear to be merited here again.
