A certain Connemara man looks like he is leading the YPOTS poll, but the POTS poll is very close it seems.
We will be putting a ballet box in the Clan Bar tonight as well to make sure that we get the non-computer loving Connacht supporters view as well.

Updated the link. Don't worry any vote for Michael Swift will go to Loughs.
About George, it was a tightly fought year to be honest.
Duffy has superb consistency and his game away against Quins was the cherry on top.
Wilko has been fighting the good fight for us for years and his involvement in the Irish setup is testament to his work rate and consistency.
Loughs... well it's already been said but man what a year for him!
And of course Macca, superb all season and winning his first Irish cap as well.

I don't know if Swifty is trying to steal some votes or Diom is doing it for him, but he's my man for player of the decade.

I have sent off my votes. Was leaning towards Mike McCarthy but Ronan Loughney got my vote if only for the way he adjusted to life at tight head when things were looking seriously grim. The fact he's a local lad who had injury troubles but battled back probably influenced my decision. He didn't get as many starts as maybe he should early in the season but when he got his chance he took it. Plenty of others have had fine seasons also.
Tiernan O'Halloran for the young player award. Strongest field we've ever had at that category I think. I don't think Tiernan missed a game all season and he already looks very comfortable at this level despite having big boots to fill. Looking forward to his continued progress in the next few seasons. Any of the other 3 could have won it any other year and all made big impacts this season also.

To vote see the article on the front page. I've even created handy mailto links for the extremely typing averse among us.
For me it will be McCarthy I think. First Irish cap and deserved more.
The young player list is:
Eoin Griffin
Dave McSharry
Mick Kearney
Tiernan O'Halloran
So go on give out to us about your favorite player not making the shortlist!
Diom - Update the Ronan Loughney voting link please - it says Michael Swift in the email subject if you use it..

Tiernan walks the young player of the year with another honourable mention to Dennis Buckly.
