I like the away shirt even less now, couldn't make out numbers on the jerseys at all.

Good try from Vainikolo, easy when he got behind the cover but thats what we missed with Fionn Carr gone, a winger who can seize on half an opportunity. O'Halloran can do it but we aren't top heavy on try scoring threats so if Vainikolo can chip in with a good share of tries it'll be a big help.

Gotta say after watching the video was very impressed with our work along the breakdown we kept the ball alive as much as possible. Good stuff by the lads.

no a powerful 12, which bring a solution for alterning our game plans...

Great defense from Connacht in those clips, hopefully a sign of things to come. A lot of fighting for positions this season which is great to see.

I've smiled when I've seen the many inversion mistakes in the connacht's subtuitutions on the Exeter website :cheer: :

"Connacht: T O'Halloran (M Jarvis 57); F Vainikolo (M McCrea 75), K Tonnetti, B Murphy, J Loxton (M McCrea h/t);M Nikora (K Marmion 66), D Moore (M Fifita 41); F Bealham (JH Wright 32), A Flavin (D Buckley 25), P Reilly (JP Cooney h/t); M Swift (capt, M Kearney h/t), D Gannon; A Browne, E Grace (W Faloon h/t), G Naoupu (E McKeon h/t)."

A win and Fets scoring on is first outing, that's bloody fantastic. Great confidence booster...

Especially when you consider

G'wan the lads...

Have to say with the strength of the squad we sent over there that is a very good result (in so far as any pre-season friendly can be). By all accounts another great defensive display.

Good result to start the season. An away win and a win in a tight game, all our christmases have come at once. B) Should put a bit of pressure on the more established players that they'll have to battle to get their starting spots back.
