Duffy-Not a fan of any back being a captain. He went against the grain giving the ref grief.Wether or not he was right ,can't be done with refs.
Big fan of Muldoon as captain.Think it was argued that it effected his performance last time, but would see him as a natural leader and forwards do tend to command a bit more respect with all the grunt work etc.
So much possession was kicked away .A real shame .
Feck it though ,still happy with the season.Heads can be held up from the heineken cup displays and a huge improvement with our league position.Had we not fecked up against Leinster,Cardiff and Glasgow then we could have looked at 7th.Lots to be positive about next year.Bigfan of Elwoods selecion which is generally the best team is selected.Hope to neve e "Targeting" gams again. The B & I Cup should strengthen the squad.

Heard he had a very bad attitude on arrival, he's shown very little any time he's got a run and I think he's being cut loose
Big shame if it is. He's got all the attributes to make it all he needs is to push himself.
Think he's too tall to be a prop
Buckley-esque
He looked great at u20 level but it was more his size than anything else. He was 20 stone back then so he basically overpowered opposing props, rather than using technique.

scott deasy playing 10 for munster, keatley not on bench either, is he injured??
is he now 3rd choice and trying to get deasy game time for next season
Keatley took a knock during the warm-up and had to pull out otherwise he would have started.
What would guys think of giving White the captaincy? He captained down in NZ so he brings experience and I think we all agree that a forward is the best position to have a captain.

Kearney has impressed anytime he played for a young guy his mature for his age and has all the attributes to develop into a great player.
Not impressed by maguire big guy but strikes me as being lazy ,carrying alot of weight even for a prop, don't hold much hope for this guy.
Loxton was very unfortunate with the bad break think he will get chance to prove himself next year if the guys see potential in him.
Ok, but I was asking particularly about yesterday few minutes of each ..

Although we normally go for a homegrown player, I wouldn't mind seeing either Mike McCarthy or Swifty given the captaincy role, but would have to come down to their leadership on and off the pitch. McCarthy isn't a loose cannon anymore which would have ruled him out of a position like this in the past.
Andrew Farley was captain for three seasons in a row going back to 2004-2005 season. Doesn't matter where the player comes from, it's what he delivers on the park in a Connacht jersey. Not sure if Macca would relish the role or if it would take away from his ability to perform...

We made some good headway in the opening stages but as usual poor options in their 22 and lack of support for the ball carrier dogged us and we couldn't get the 5 or 7 pointer which would have heaped the pressure on them. Once they got the try we were well out of it, they kept us pinned back well in the 2nd half and it was all too easy. The 2nd try was embarrasing, POD was off but it was an 8 man scrum (I think there was a push before the feed too but still).
Our scrum was under pressure, Buckley has emerged very well this year but has a long way to go yet while Ronan Loughney (who has had a fine season) was in trouble all through. This was a clear indication that Nathan White is badly needed. Lineout started out ok but Gray started disrupting then which added to our problems.
Agree with Seanin, in that a hooker and scrum half are needed. I know we are looking for a backup hooker but at scrum half I don't know can I tolerate another season of Frank Murphy going through the motions.
Also time to look at a new captain, I have great respect for Duffy but the more I see of him as captain it doesn't work.
Anyway lets hope Eric can find the money to dig up another couple of additions and give the growing supporter base something to shout about next season.

Starting XV should go around and apologise to the departees because there were a bunch of them who have clearly packed their bags for the summer holidays. I convinced myself that some of them would be playing for squad places to NZ but who out of the 23 will get within an asses roar now?
After the first ten minutes everything was wrong with that performance, from Tiernan coming in off his wing for VanDerMerwe's try, to lack of line-out movement/variety allowing Glasgow to pick off ball at will.
Peter Fitzgibbon, is and always has been sh*te and frankly biased in too many games involving us, but tonight's performance was all about us. We basically didn't show....
Eric had obviously pre-planned to give the fringe lads a run, but had probably anticipated us actually being in the game when he made the changes....
Best of luck to Ray, Henry, Dylan, Brian and all the leavers...

way too much kicking possession away via garryowens (this tactic is shocking all season)
never look like troubling the warriors.
WOrk all the way up the pitch into their 22 then backwards due to basic errors of poor handling and not protecting the ball in the ruck.
WE BADLY NEED A SCRUM HALF AND HOOKER FOR HEC or it will be the same oul story.
can anyone point me in the direction as to where they think we are going to improve next season as of right now cannot see it!
