Think its a good move by TOL to many players at Munster spend their entire careers on the fringes getting the occasional game. You'll find that Stringer will get another year now at Munster with Duncan Williams 3rd choice.

in relation to the stringer to connacht speculation it appears that tomas o leary has signed for perpingon so i wud imagine that stringer will be staying put for another 12 mths at least.

both in contract till end of next season, they will be a load off bull shit about players but nearly all connacht players have a another year on there contracts.

if macca turned down leinster this year and signed a two year deal i cant see him leaving next year when he will be 31

anyone know the contract situations with ronan loughs and macca?

i was talking to a couple of friends from limerick who mentioned that rumour mill in limk is that munster are looking at macca for 6 since ruddock stayed put and ronan for tighthead cover as borlase is prob goin to be released and archer ot ready to step up.

are we vulnerable here? they also mentioned wilko for horan but said that was prob further down line.

Another Connacht rumour, is that they could bring in Munster lock Ian Nagle. Nagle has been much hyped as a lock prospect, yet it stuck as fifth choice behind Paul O’Connell, Mick O’Driscoll, Donncha O’Callaghan and Donnacha Ryan. He could move to Connacht to improve his game time.

Highly unlikely, with McCarthy and Swift on the books, Kearney, Nolan, and Qualter coming through, George having done alright at second row, and the option of retaining Gannon, this is one area we're not badly off.

Plus there are rumours in the Times today that O'Driscoll is retiring and Ryan is considering heading to Leinster, in which case Nagle can expect to get a lot more love from Munster.

Also he might have a point to prove having missed most of this season with a bad injury.

At 28/29 he's probably the wrong age profile for a Project Player in any position, he wouldn't be IQ until he is 30+...

One or two Munster players with chips on their shoulders and points to prove after being let go might not be a bad idea.

Wilko will be hunted once he's near the end of his contract, as will Macca. But we know this, we can see it coming. So it's up to us to do what we can to keep them and/or have replacements coming through. Crying once it's happened won't be much use.

Apparently Daragh Hurley is going to retire at the end of the season at Munster. You figure with him gone and the new laws coming in that there going to be after Brett Wilkinson's signature in a big way next time it's up. Especially since Marcus Horan has only a season or two left in him.

It's also rumoured that Munster are planning a clear out this season of some of there fringe players. The likes of Holland etc. Will be interesting to see if any of them head west.

In fairness Worcester are hardly the biggest club in England, good move for game time I'd reckon hopefully only a 1 year deal or he could potentially find himself back in div.1 again. If he can't get serious game time there it might just be that he won't make it at the highest level which would be dissapointing.

I really hope we have someone lined up. Wilkinson and Loughney(both sides) are decent options but we need at least 1 real signing and a couple of decnet backups which won't be easy.
