The season also starts in Aug/Sep but they think it starts the week before Christmas as that is when they bring out supporters Apparel.
Look at O Neills ,look at Rhino anybody but kick Rugbytech to touch and if whats his face on PGB is using his position to keep Rugbytech involved with Connacht he should step aside or kick the sales and marketing director into touch.
You clearly know SFA about mass production. Connacht were due to use the same jersey as they did the season before with no Heineken Cup rugby due before Leinsters win. Leinster won and it was only decided at short notice that a HC jersey should be produced. It takes a long time to put together an order of that magnitude and they were out in time before the first Quins game and Christmas when the majority of sales for any jersey peak for a sports store.
And talking about apparel, the reason no more were produced last season was because the sales figures were so poor the season before that they decided not to make anymore more for the sake of avoiding a loss based on previous sales performance. From what I understand they didnt want to reproduce this apparel last season when demand for Connacht Rugby was on the rise because they were in the process of designing the gear for next season and the product wouldn't have been in the store till early 2012.
Firstly, if you are involved with Elverys or Rugbytech you should declare your interest. Secondly , mass production you could not be any further from the truth if you tried but the difference is the organisation i work can mass produce and on time and with un expected spikes . And another point you brought up, where did I mention the H Cup jerseys, I didn't I actually mean all the apparel that is produced. It is late, some of it is unsuitable and it is a mish mash of when it is going to be in the shops, and I quote from the Manager of one of your shops, "we don't know when we are getting stock, how we are getting it or what we are getting" and I was at the time as he pointed not the first person that asked him that day and his answer he explained was in relation to missed delivery deadlines by Rugbytech and previous deliveries of stock that did not match up with his order. As Connacht has a new title Sponsor, they were not going to use the same Jersey as they were the year before, but even at that you still could not get the new jerseys into the shops for the season start. As I mentioned, Quality is good the rest leaves a lot to be desired.

Will there be more gear on sale this year eg. training gear, and when is it likely to be out? Any idea on the design of the new jersey?

They didn't even say 'maybe' or they 'hope', just flat out 'will be available'
Good stuff. here's hoping it's true!

It does not matter if they are Irish , they are simply not up to the job so dump them. O Neills are Irish and the quality and range they do for Quinns is impressive. Buy Irish if the product and service are right if not buy from somewhere were it is right.

Now I'm hoping that's because Munster & Leinster shirts don't sell while Connacht ones do, but it's not good for the only supplier of Connacht gear to allow their stores to run out of stock. Everyone involved from the top down shouldn't let this happen.
This was the case in both the Westport and Castlebar outlets.
Think in all my travels across Ireland I've only seen one Elverys store where more space was devoted to Connacht gear than the CCC Leinster or Adidas Munster gear (Galway). Shameful really, even Athlone branch was a Leinster store....

I'll miss it, it was quite a nice shirt, but would love to hear there's something new coming out.
